The contents of the May release are smaller than usual, but there is a lot of work happening behind the scenes. Read below for the exciting announcement of a highly-requested feature. The improvements in the May release will be available on Friday, May 29 2020.

Shift Scheduling is (Finally) Coming!

As likely our most frequently-requested feature, we are very excited to announce that we have started development on our Scheduling feature!

May's Release includes what we consider to be the "pre-work" to the four phases of development that will introduce scheduling to Woven over the course of the summer. While the additions of Location Hours of Operation and other Position-specific features do little now, they will play a large role in the upcoming months.

Here is what to expect over the course of the summer:

Phase 1 - June

We'll update existing Schedule features including Time off Requests and Availability with all work focused on supporting Shift Scheduling. We will also update the Schedule Management section of the software and include the new Shift Scheduling Settings.

Phase 2 - July

We will introduce Labor Plans which will be the last remaining building block to help managers create great schedules that meet all expectations of owners and their team members.

Phase 3 - August

We will release the Beta version of Shift Schedules by leveraging all of the existing data in Woven. The will be a unique and powerful - yet easy to use - scheduling feature that managers will love.

Phase 4 - September

We'll fully release Shift Schedules and introduce Shift Swaps. This release will also include various minor "nice-to-have" features like the automatic Shift Reminder to team members.

We will share additional details about each phase in upcoming releases, as well as Help Articles on our website. There is a lot of work ahead of us, but we're confident that this feature will be worth the wait.



Email Improvements

The emails sent out from Woven have been, well...basic. We are starting to change that with this Release!

You will notice a new style to all Woven emails that reflects updated branding of our website:

We have also updated the content of Time Off Request and Missed Shift emails to make it quicker and easier for managers and team members to read. Over the next 30 days, we'll be making similar updates to all other emails.


Account and Location Time Zone Support

Woven now supports triggered notification and time display in your local time zone. Certain aspects of Woven, like scheduling future announcements, were triggered based on the Eastern Time Zone. Woven will now honor the time zone of your account. By default, all accounts are set to the Eastern Time Zone, but you may easily change that by going to "Account Settings" and selecting the "Account" tab.

For accounts with locations in multiple time zones, you are able to set the time zone per location. You can do so by going to the "Locations" page then selecting your location where you will see the "Time Zone" field.
