September 2026 Product Updates: Multi-Location Operations Software Improvements

Published on:

As multi-location organizations grow, operational complexity grows with them.

That's why we're continually improving Woven to help teams reduce administrative work, strengthen accountability, and create greater visibility across every location.

This month's releases are focused on turning the information already in Woven into decisions your team can act on. From guidance on whether to repair or replace an asset to a view of exactly what's failing in your audits and where it clusters, these updates are built for operators who have the data and need the answer.

Here's a look at what's new in Woven this month:

Repair vs. Replace Guidance

Knowing what an asset is worth is useful. Knowing what to do about it is better.

Following last month's release of Asset Book Value, Woven now compares a repair quote against what the asset is worth today and makes a recommendation. A clear Repair recommended or Replace recommended call-out appears on the asset panel whenever a work order carries a vendor quote, and a dedicated Value & Replacement view shows current book value, replacement cost, and estimated end of life together, along with how the asset's value has declined against what you've spent maintaining it year by year. You can also see the exact dollar amount a repair quote would need to reach before replacing becomes the recommendation, and set your own expected lifespan, replacement cost, and repair threshold for each asset category.

For operators managing aging equipment across locations, that means the repair-or-replace conversation starts with a number instead of an opinion.

Asset Part Allocation Tracking

Parts history is only useful if it's attached to the right piece of equipment.

When you add a part to a work order, you can now record which specific asset it was used on, not just which work order it belongs to. On work orders covering a single asset the link happens automatically with nothing extra to do. On work orders covering two or more, Woven asks you to choose rather than guessing. If a part gets assigned to the wrong asset, a Change Asset option corrects it without deleting and re-adding, and existing part records were updated automatically wherever the correct asset could be determined with certainty.

For maintenance teams tracking cost by equipment, that means parts spend lands against the asset that actually consumed it, which is what makes repair history worth reviewing later.

Work Order Location Insights: Location Tab

Sometimes the question isn't how the whole business is doing. It's what's happening at one site.

Work Order Insights now includes a Location tab. Select a single site and a reporting period, and you'll see its full maintenance picture in one place: open work orders, average open age, maintenance spend, active preventive maintenance work, warranties expiring, and assets nearing end of life, each with trend comparisons. A Needs Attention strip flags what to act on today, and an Asset Matrix breaks the site down by asset category so you can see open work orders, near and past end-of-life counts, and warranty alerts side by side. Most figures click straight through to the underlying lists.

For regional leaders preparing for a site visit or a conversation with a location manager, that means the full picture is assembled before the meeting rather than during it.

Location Audit Insights: Deficiencies Tab

A score tells you how a location performed. It doesn't tell you what went wrong.

Audit Insights now includes a Deficiencies tab alongside Scores. It shows total failed items for a given template and date range, the average number of failures per audit month over month, which sections of your template fail most often, your worst-performing locations in a sortable table, and the individual questions that fail most frequently. A heat grid shows where failures concentrate across sections and districts, and every figure drills into the specific failed items behind it. For templates with Corrective Action Plans enabled, you'll also see Repeat, Open CAPs, Overdue, and Actioned or Waived figures.

For brand standards teams, that means you can tell not just what's failing, but whether anyone fixed it, and whether the same issue came back.

Audit Template Targeting

Not every audit template belongs in front of every team.

Location Audit templates now use the same targeting model as Handbook and Communications. Instead of a single stored position list and an all-or-nothing sharing switch, you choose exactly which locations, teams, and positions can use each template, and brand accounts can share a template with a hand-picked set of organizations rather than all or none. Position restrictions are enforced everywhere an audit is started, viewed, or reported on, and brand-configured position access carries through when a template is shared to an operations account. Templates can also be archived to take them out of use without publishing a new version.

For brands running different standards across regions, formats, or franchise groups, that means one template library instead of parallel ones maintained by hand.

Location Audit PDF Report Improvements

The report an audit produces is often the thing that actually gets shared.

The completion report generated after a Location Audit has been redesigned. It carries the same findings, answers, notes, photos, and work order references in noticeably fewer pages, with a compact header showing the audit score, dates, and who completed it at a glance. Long written answers now display in a clearly labeled full-width block rather than being squeezed into a tag, and a new Corrective Action Plan section appears alongside the findings as a summary card for each plan tied to the audit.

There's nothing to enable. The refreshed design applies to every Location Audit completed from the release forward, and regenerating an older audit's report will apply it there too.

Suppress Unread Chat Counts

A badge showing four thousand unread messages isn't information. It's noise.

Admins can now turn off numeric unread chat badges for any role, on both web and mobile. This was built for roles like executives with all-location access, whose automatic membership in every location and team chat can push their unread count into the thousands even though they never participate. With the setting on, those users no longer see a number on individual chats, the chat icon, or the chat list tabs, but still see a plain dot on anything unread so they know something's new. Admins can override the setting for an individual employee in either direction.

Chats are still marked read normally, Mark all as read still works, and notifications are unaffected. The setting only changes what's displayed.

Built for the Realities of Multi-Location Operations

Every enhancement we release is designed with one goal in mind: helping multi-location organizations operate more consistently, efficiently, and effectively.

From maintenance economics and parts tracking to audit depth and template governance, we're committed to building tools that help operators spend less time managing systems and more time growing their business.

As always, we appreciate the feedback from our customers that helps shape Woven's roadmap. Many of our most impactful improvements start as conversations with the operators using the platform every day.

Why These Updates Matter for Multi-Location Operations

Managing operations across multiple locations requires more than good processes. It requires systems that help teams execute consistently, communicate effectively, and reduce unnecessary administrative work.

This month's updates are designed to support those goals in several ways:

Smarter Asset Decisions Repair vs. Replace Guidance and Asset Part Allocation Tracking bring real numbers to equipment decisions, so repair-or-replace calls and cost history are tied to the specific asset in question.

Deeper Operational Visibility The Work Order Location tab and the Audit Deficiencies tab move past summary scores to show what's actually happening at a given site and what's actually failing across the business.

Greater Accountability Deficiency tracking with Corrective Action Plan status shows whether flagged issues were addressed or left open, and whether the same problem recurred.

More Efficient Workflows Audit Template Targeting, the redesigned audit report, and configurable chat badges reduce the manual upkeep and noise that build up as an organization adds locations.

Together, these enhancements help multi-location organizations scale more effectively while maintaining the consistency and accountability required for long-term success.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Woven?

Woven is an operations management platform designed specifically for multi-location organizations. The platform helps operators manage communication, maintenance, audits, compliance, incidents, training, tasks, and workforce operations from a single system.

Who are these updates designed for?

These enhancements benefit organizations that manage multiple locations, including fitness brands, franchises, health and wellness businesses, commercial service providers, and other multi-unit operators looking to improve consistency and operational visibility.

How does Woven decide whether to recommend repairing or replacing an asset?

The recommendation compares a vendor repair quote on a work order against the asset's current book value and your configured repair threshold for that asset category. Woven also shows the exact dollar amount a quote would need to reach before the recommendation changes. The feature is off by default and requires an Account Administrator to enable it and set category defaults.

What can audit template targeting restrict?

Templates can be limited to specific locations, teams, and positions, and brand accounts can share a template with a selected set of organizations. Position restrictions apply everywhere an audit is started, viewed, or reported on. Templates left Public remain available to everyone in scope.

How can I learn more about these new features?

Current customers can contact their Customer Success Manager for additional guidance, join the Monthly Release Webinar for a walkthrough of each release, or attend a Live Walkthrough session for deeper training on a specific area of the platform.
